Well, to say I had a good time at the Headstones show at the Republik would be lying... not because the show wasn't amazing, but because I missed most of it... Low cash problems, and by the time I got the money, the tickets were gone. Had a great converstion with a guy I go to school with in the Ship and Anchor down the street over some pints, and around midnight, we decided to head back to the Republik and see if they might let us in... they did. We came in just in time to catch the Encore, and listen to Cubically Contained and Unsound... I tried to get backstage (or more like side stage) to talk to Trent, who does the Official Webpage for the Headstones, as well as being a brilliant guitarist. Got run off by the security folk, but managed to arrange a meeting after the show. Shows over, and I took a wrong turn - almost missed my conversation due to my own inept sense of direction... but I backtracked, and found the band. My take? I talked for 20 minutes or so with Trent Carr, who liked the idea of the full song Real Audio on my site, and has promised to take a look. Tim White was cool, but left quickly. Dale Harrison was overly friendly, and showed off a war wound - blisters from the hectic tour following a long break. All in all, I really enjoyed talking to the 3 of them. Then Hugh made an appearance, and showed the side of him that I had heard rumored, but never seen (up until tonight, all I'd seen was the kill 'em all, make 'em suffer, rock 'em to death nasty Hugh) very quiet, laid back demeanor. Here's a couple of rumors for the mill... Hugh's heading back down to talk to Tarantino again shortly... (possible movie role again?) and apparently Tarantino has agreed to use the Headstones on an unspecified future soundtrack... Hugh wasn't sure if he meant it, but it's there. Got a sheet of paper autographed by the band members, and I'm going to get it scanned in for the site :) All in all, the Headstones proved themselves to be personable, eloquent, and open to meeting their public in a controlled situation. Many cheers to ya all, and thanks for your time :)
